Landscape watercolour painting is her forte and she gathers her inspiration from the unique look and feel of Canada’s coasts, both East and West. In 2011, she became a member of the founding group of Qalipu Mi’kmaq First Nations Band of Newfoundland. No stranger to the Hyack Festival, Trudy, while raising her two sons, periodically volunteered for Hyack events and the parade. In 2017, she created the First Nations designs painted by students of Glenbrook Middle and Herbert Spencer Elementary Schools onto the paddles that adorned the 2017 float.
