Meghan Conner

Meghan is the daughter of Arlene and Ron Conner and a graduating student of New Westminster Secondary.  She plays soccer at a high level and enjoys volunteering at the Douglas College youth summer camps and, while in the Hyack Ambassador Program, has enjoyed volunteering at Honour House.  
Meghan is inspired by her Mom because “she wakes up at four in the morning for my brother’s hockey and her days are long since she works out in Vancouver.  She works really hard for us and I want to be like that.”  

 

Meghan’s most treasured keepsake is a necklace her aunt bought her for a birthday.  “It looked beautiful and expensive, but it was simple, and I wore it all the time.”

Meghan’s favorite thing to do in the Royal City, besides the Hyack Festival, is to go walking around Queens’ Park, as it is so peaceful and there’s lots to see.

 

Her proudest moment in life, so far, was to be able to give her brother small things, but the things he wanted, for his birthday.  “He looked so happy and I was glad I was able to do that for him.”  

 

Meghan knows she will be a good Hyack Ambassador because she likes being involved in the community and further developing herself as a person.  She is looking forward to the opportunities the Hyack Ambassador Leadership Program provides her and will represent New Westminster with an open mind and to the best of her ability.
