TALIA MONNO
Everything happens for a reason, live it, love it, learn from it.”
Words to live by
by Talia Monno
Talia is the daughter of Benedetto Monno and Kimberly Nezezon and is the proud big sister of her forever best friend, Daniella Monno. She has been part of her high school cheerleading team and Boswell Dance Academy, as well as a part of many organizations as an active volunteer. Talia has also received honour roll certificates every year for her consistent straight “A’s” and also received an Honesty Award in Grade Nine. She also enjoys dancing, swimming, baking, listening to music, watching movies, writing and spending time with friends and family. In her spare time, Talia likes to challenge her sister to a very intense game of UNO. After graduation, Talia plans to attend university and start her path toward the medical field.
Talia’s favourite TV show is Riverdale and her favourite movie is The Greatest Showman. Her favourite song is “God’s Plan” by Drake and her favourite book is Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur. She is inspired by DISNEY because every movie has its own lesson on life represented through the stories of the characters. DISNEY taught her that everything is going to be okay. Talia’s most treasured keepsake is her collection of stuffed giraffes because of her beauty marks that resemble the spots on her favourite animal.
Talia’s favourite thing to do in the Royal City, besides the Hyack Festival, is spending time being a role model and coach for our City’s youth in the Royal City Hyack Cheerleading Program. Talia’s proudest moment in her life so far is when she was accepted into the Hyack Ambassador Leadership Program and when her cheer team became international champions. If Talia could trade place with anyone it would be Martin Luther King Jr. because his words made history. Even though he was killed he still changed the world with his perseverance and she would be honoured to be him for a day. Talia believes she would make a good Hyack Ambassador because of her self-confidence, focus and integrity. She puts her heart into everything she does and has a desire to be someone our City’s youth can look up to.
