A Year of Celebration and Connection: Hyack Festival Association's 2025

The Hyack Festival Association had an eventful 2025 filled with vibrant community gatherings, cultural celebrations, and meaningful partnerships. This year, we lived our mission of building community spirit by connecting with neighbours across Metro Vancouver, and our events brought together more people than ever before. From the first blossoms of spring to the twinkling lights of the holiday season, 2025 was a chapter of joy, music, and shared pride.

On the Road with Hyack: Spreading Joy Across Metro Vancouver

One of our greatest joys is taking the Hyack sprit on the road. Our float became a familiar sight at community celebrations throughout the Lower Mainland. Each parade is a chance to strengthen regional bonds and share the unique energy of New Westminster.

We kicked off our parade season with the community charm of the Port Coquitlam May Days Rotary Parade, celebrating the arrival of (rainy) spring, got the party started at the Cloverdale Rodeo Parade in May, and the sunny skies came out as we joined the family friendly fun of the Pitt Meadows Day Parade.

Summer brought us a quintessential West Coast experience at the Steveston Salmon Festival, followed by the beachside excitement of the White Rock Sea Festival and Semiahmoo Days. We then soaked up the sun at the vibrant Tsawwassen Sun Festival!

As the year turned towards the holidays, our float lit up the night. We marveled at the creativity in the Surrey Santa Parade of Lights, braved the crisp December air with warm hearts at the Maple Ridge Santa Claus Parade, and felt the small-town magic at the Aldergrove Christmas Light Up Parade.

While we love visiting other communities, there's nothing quite like hosting our own. Our signature events are where we showcase what makes New Westminster so special and create unforgettable experiences right here at home.

Celebrating Diversity at the Hyack Multicultural Parade and Festival in the Park

This event is a living tapestry of New Westminster! The streets came alive with the colours, sounds, and rhythms of cultures from around the world during our Multicultural Parade. In the park, the celebration continued with live dance and music performances, delicious foods, and the joyful sounds of people connecting. It was a powerful reminder of the strength and beauty found in our diversity.

Wrapping up the Season with the Summer Music and Fireworks Festival

There's a special magic to a summer evening by the water. Our Summer Music and Fireworks Festival was the perfect soundtrack to wrap up an incredible season. The air buzzed with anticipation as the acts took the stage. Then, as darkness fell, the sky over the river erupted in a spectacular symphony of light and colour during the fireworks finale.
