This formal evening is a premiere event in our community as we recognize and celebrate our city’s youth and their accomplishment of completing the six month citizenship training presented by the New Westminster Hyack Ambassador Leadership Program.
The “Evening of Stars” is the final evening of the New Westminster Hyack Ambassador Awards Gala weekend, on Saturday, April 18 at the Laura Muir Theatre in Douglas College, beginning at 6:30 pm.
Five outstanding young Royal City residents will be installed, with their titles and tiaras, as the 2020 Hyack Ambassador Leadership Team. Along with the Hyack Festival Association float travelling around the Pacific Northwest, the Leadership Team will bring our community greetings to our neighbors and friends around BC and volunteer year-round here at home with various local events. The 2020 Team will carry on the mandate of “Serving Our Community - Representing Our City”
Join local dignitaries, business sponsors, visiting Youth Ambassadors from around BC, community supporters, families and friends as New Westminster comes together to support and congratulate our future leaders with an exciting evening of presentations, performances, and the announcement of the title scholarship of Miss New Westminster! Additional scholarships of Hyack Princess, Miss Friendship and the Bernie Legge Recipient will also be announced as well as the Ambassador Awards of Top Communicator, Top Talent, Knowledge Award, Top Essay Award, Alumni Award and more!
Voting for the People’s Choice Award will culminate after intermission this evening, and votes cast will be tallied with ALL funds raised going to further the scholarship fund for ALL the candidates! Vote for your favorite candidate and support the scholarship fund for all!
